The Giving Tree

The Giving Tree is back this year so Please bring your checkbooks and/or extra cash this Sunday. We only have TWO Sundays to collect the donations. So be on the look out for this magical tree. :)

 

For those of us...(myself included) that are new to the ward let me briefly explain what the Giving Tree is all about.

The Arlington 5th ward has chosen to give everyone an opportunity to help those in our area this Christmas by setting up a christmas tree filled with stockings. Inside those stockings you will see the an envelope with the donation amount labeled on the outside. Please take an envelope fill out the necessary information and return the envelope to a member of our Bishopric. Once the money is collected our Bishop and his counselors will prayerfully choose families that are in need of some help this Christmas season. We encourage everyone to give what they can.

The Checks/money MUST be turned in by DEC. 19th

Cooking Group- January

Be on the look out for info on the Cooking Group which will be on Thursday January 21. She will be teaching us how to make homemade bagels and we will be able to make sure they taste good too!

Ward Temple Night- Friday 8pm session

Ward Temple Night is on Friday January 8th.  We will be going to the 8pm session.

Tarrant County families with uninsured children may be eligible for health coverage through the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or Children’s Medicaid.

Benefits include choice of doctors, regular check-ups, prescriptions, dental services, shots, eye exams and glasses.

YOU MUST BRING:

1. a copy of birth certificate for each child - child must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

2. a social security number for each child OR

3. an Alien Registration Card (I-551) or copy of front and back of each child’s card, if child is not a U.S. citizen.

4. proof of income for all family members - most recent paycheck stub or a letter from your employer stating how much you are paid; child support check stub; and childcare, disabled adult care, or child support paid receipt, where applicable.

GNO- January

We are having GNO on Saturday the 9th at 7:30pm. Please bring a goodie to share and we will have a great time eating and chatting!  Please feel free to bring friends and non members.

We are going to be having these every other month.  We are going to be changing the weekend that we do it so be on the look out for that.

Playgroup- January

We are going to be having Taco Fridays this month. The kids can bring a sack lunch from home and then the adults can eat tacos. It is so much fun! I am looking for people to sign up to bring a part of the meal. Here is what we are looking for:


Taco meat
Tacos- S(for the month)
Salsa- H (for the month)
Cheese
Sour Cream
Guacamole
Lettuce- S (for the month)


We are looking at the dates of 8th, 15th, 22nd, and the 29th. You can either sign up for each week or for the month, whatever works best for you. 

Let me know what you want to sign up for and we can send reminder emails. Please feel free to come if you didn’t sign up for anything. I know life happens so come anyway.
